Frogmore Stew

½      cup     OLD BAY seasoning
2        T        salt
3        Qts     water
1        qt       chicken broth
1        can     beer
1                 garlic clove, crushed
8                 medium red potatoes, cut in quarters
2                 large sweet onions, cut in wedges
2        lbs      lean smoked sausage, cut in 2-inch lengths
2        lbs      large shrimp in shells
4                 ears of corn, broken in ½ or thirds

  1. In an large pot, bring OLD BAY, salt, water, chicken broth, beer and garlic to boil.  Add potatoes and onions.  Cook over high heat for 8 minutes.

 

  1. Add smoked sausage.  Cook for 5 minutes
  1. Add corn.  Cook for 7 minutes

 

  1. Add shrimp.  Cook for 4 minutes

 

Drain cooking liquid.  Pour contents of pot into several large bowls, shallow pails or mound on a paper-covered picnic table.  Sprinkle with additional OLD BAY if desired.

This will feed 6 easily!
